Rupert Everett Advises homosexual Actors To Stay In The Closet
Gay actor Rupert Everett has been openly homosexual for 20 years..but he doesn’t recommend it for anyone else. Rup says that homophobia in Hollywood has kept him from becoming a leading man. He says that heterosexuals are cast as gays (think: ‘Brokeback Mountain’ and ‘Transamerica’) but homosexual men are denied the best straight roles.
“It’s not that advisable to be honest. It’s not very easy. And, honestly, I would not advise any actor necessarily, whether he was really thinking of his career, to come out. The fact is that you could not be, and still cannot be, a 25-year-old homosexual trying to manufacture it in the British film business or the American film business or even the Italian film business,” he said. “It just doesn’t work and you’re going to hit a brick wall at some point. You’re going to manage to assemble it roll for a positive amount of day, but at the first
That really sucks and I’m certain it is a Hollywood standard. But on the other hand Neil Patrick Harris has had huge success as a so-straight-its-painful-man on “How I Met Your Mother” and in the “Harold and Kumar” movies. So possibly it’s duration for Rup to get by himself…perhaps he’s just not that good and that’s why he’s not getting work…not what he’s doing in the bedroom.
I used to think Rup was dreamy…but he’s turning into a grumpy old queen.
