Jimmy Fallon: To Replace Conan O’Brien

Former SNL cast member, Jimmy Fallon, will be returning to late night starting in 2009 when Conan O’Brien takes Jay Leno’s date slot.

As announced in 2004, Jay Leno will be retiring in 2009 and Conan O’Brien will be moving into the 11:35pm slot leaving the 12:35am slot open.

Fallon has some experience with the delivery of late night shows since

he was a co-host on SNL’s “Weekend Update” and plus was a guest host filling in for David Letterman in 2003.

The official announcement from NBC is supposedly coming on May 12th but right now they are staying mum.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some good song parodies and perhaps a thrown pencil or two.
