Alexa Ray Joel: In Stable Condition

Making for quite the scary situation, Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley’s daughter Alexa Ray has been hospitalized in New York after suffering a suspected drug overdose.

According to the latest reports, Miss Joel was rushed to St. Vincent’s Medical Center on Saturday afternoon (December 5) after paramedics were called to her apartment in Manhattan’s West Village at 12:24PM.

The 23-year-old is said to have told

the emergency medical technicians she had been struggling to breathe after taking eight sleeping pills, according to the New York Daily News.

Ray Joel’s publicist, Claire Mercuri, confirmed the young star had been taken to hospital and told that she’s in stable condition, adding, “She was admitted, and doctors are assessing the situation. We have no further comment.”
